William South

This photograph was the product of a paper, developed about 1905, which would take photographs in natural colors. William C. South, born in 1872, was the inventor and patentee of this process. The Solgram Color Photo Co. was established in March of 1905 for the purpose of manufacturing this paper. Unfortunately the Trust by reason of its contracts with dealers prevented the sale of a most promising enterprise, which, at the time, was the only plant in the world devoted to the production of color photos.
